Proper and reliable communication is a pre-requisite to effective and efficient use of electronic resources available free in the web space or for a fee. Digital communication and networking technologies are key drivers of economic growth and social well-being in the 21st century. Like other physical infrastructure, well-developed National Information Infrastructure (NII) depicts prosperity on a country.
DELNET database services : DELNET was started at the India International Centre Library in January 1988 and was registered as a society in 1992. It was initially supported by the National Information System for Science and Technology (NISSAT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Reseach, Government of India. It was subsequently supported by the National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and The Ministry of Culture, Government of India. DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. Presently network has 4167 national and international members. We can access resources of these institutions for our users. And it is matter of proud that our university library is member of this network. With the membership of this network we are able to use following resources:-

UGC-Infonet services University Grants Commission (UGC), with its responsibility to coordinate and maintain high standards in university education, has launched an ambitious programme to bring about a qualitative change in the academic infrastructure, especially for higher education. Under this initiative, the UGC facilitates modernization of university campuses with state-of-the-art campus wide networks and has set up its own nationwide communication network named UGC-INFONET with INFLIBNET as its executing and coordinating agency. Our university library is associate member of this service. Presently, we are subscribing Emerald and Taylor & Francis’s Online journals under this programme. Under this subscription we are getting access to 1742 journals from Taylor and Francis groups and Library and Information Science collection from Emarald.
